Weeks 2 and 3

Sorry I haven't been writing much but this working all the time is really exhausting!  The second week of camp was themed Wacky Wild West Show Down and was lots of fun.  We went to the pool that Tuesday and going to the indoor pool was lucky because we had a crazy rainstorm.  The lights went out while we were there and only had one child freak out but we sat out in the little patio area until they got them working again so that wasn't too horrible.  Wednesday we went to Wanapaku Land which was a nature area with some playgrounds.  It's kind of hard to explain but they had some walking areas, a train ride, playgrounds of all sizes, and a petting zoo with goats and sheep.  The views were very pretty.

The second picture is one of the courses they had that the children did a few times.  I didn't think they'd be able to make it up but most of them did and the counselors helped out the ones who couldn't.
Thursday we had Wacky Tacky day.  Most of the kids did not participate but a few did.  Here's a few pictures of us.

Friday we got to go to Tokyo Disneyland. I was in the slow/no ride group and it was the best decision I made. We got to walk around and look at everything instead of just standing in one line all day.  I really liked Disneyland and now I just need to go to the one in Hong Kong Disneyland and I've been to all of them.  I forgot my camera but took some on my iphone.
I'll try and add more pictures later but  week 2 was a success!

Week 3
Week 3 was Star Spangled Spirit Spectacular.  Tuesday we got to go to the outdoor pool for the first time.  It's really nice and has a grassy area for children who don't want to swim but we did find out the hard way there are thorns in the grass and 2 counselors and 4 children had to pull them out of their feet.  We had to leave a little early since it started to rain.  Wednesday we went to Fuji Q which is a theme park that was fun.  I was with the medium rides but mostly sat out with the ones who didn't want to go on the rides.  The park was fun and had some really crazy rides that most of our kids couldn't go on.

Thursday we had wear red, white, and blue day.  After lunch we did face painting which was a huge success and a few of the counselors let the kids decorate us too!
Friday we have the day off... my staff all went to a beach for the weekend. I'm meeting up with a friend from another base to see the fireworks on their base and then going on a trip tomorrow.

Happy 4th of July!!!
